AUSTRALIAN pre-paid cards
Best Western properties in Australia are rated in UNITS. The unit value is based on the standard of the property, location, amenities and other benefits that the hotel / motel has to offer.
As a comparison, Best Western European properties are rated between 2 and 9 units for each room per night.
This system is similar to but not the same as a "star rating".
In the Australian Accommodation Directory, you will find a "small square colour code:" located next to each participating properties product description – ie: next to the designation H (hotel), MI (Motor Inn) or A (Apartments/Suites).
The coloured squares represent a UNIT value as follows:
BLUE 3 Units x AUD$35.00 = AUD$105.00YELLOW 4 Units x AUD$35.00 = AUD$140.00
RED 4 ½ Units x AUD$35.00 = AUD$157.50
SILVER 5 Units x AUD$35.00 = AUD$175.00

WORLDWIDE pre-paid cards
Travel Card accounts can be loaded with any number of room nights or any desired value.
- That means you can store your funds in the form of UNITS (equating to a very specific "hotel rating") that can be applied towards room nights and taxes
- or in the form of CURRENCY that can be used to pay for room charges
- and incidentals like restaurant and telephone charges.
Each designated hotel unit is worth AUD35.00 (EUR21)
- If the property of your choice is rated at 4 units, the nightly cost for two persons sharing a double or share twin room would be AUD140.00 or on a per person basis
- AUD70.00. Normal European and UK rates are substantially higher.
- Please note that "Winter", "Low season" or "Special" promotions make the Travel Card even more affordable – in some cases reducing the nightly rate to only one third (1/3 or 33.33%) of the normal tariff.
